NAPAWF is the only organization focused on building power with AAPI women and girls to influence critical decisions that affect our lives, our families and our communities. Using a reproductive justice framework, we elevate AAPI women and girls to impact policy and drive systemic change in the United States.


NAPAWF was founded in 1996 to realize the vision of 100 AAPI women who recognized the need for an organization that would amplify AAPI women's stories and experiences. Being seen and heard in the public narrative gives us the power to shape the policy and cultural change needed to gain agency over our lives, families, and communities.


Today, we are mobilizing and building power in in 11 cities across the United States to create social, political, and economic change for AAPI women and girls. 3 of those cities have local staff on the ground. We also show up in solidarity for other women of color who are experiencing injustice and harms of oppression and marginalization.


Our work is focused in the following strategies:


  • Policy and Structural Change
  • Organizing and Civic Engagement
  • Legal Advocacy and Judicial Strategy

We use the Reproductive Justice lens to intersectionally address three core issues:


  • Reproductive Rights and Health
  • Economic Justice
  • Immigration and Racial Justice

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Chief Administrative Officer will oversee the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's administrative and financial services and departments, supporting and promoting financial and administrative goals and objectives.

POSITION DUTIES

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains management and professional-level staff.
  • Oversees the schedules and responsibilities of all staff in the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with other executive staff, and skilled and trusted departmental employees, develops, implements, operates, maintains, and controls the essential operating systems, information, and financial business of the organization.
  • Establishes, implements, and maintains the organization's Human Resources policies, practices, and procedures ensuring a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion in the attraction, development, and retention of talented staff.
  • Defines and implements key performance indicators and strategic objectives for the department and, as appropriate, the entire organization; facilitates measurement of those objectives, reporting results to the executive team.
  • Drafts and implements policies and best practices to support achievement of organizational objectives and required standards.
  • Ensures availability of adequate and appropriate equipment, staffing, and systems; recommends additional staffing and services.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices,
  • Maintains knowledge of developments and trends in finance and administration including technological advances.
  • Facilitates implementation of new systems and major modifications of existing systems to reduce downtime.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least five years of experience in the financial and administrative functions of a non-profit organization required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial and legal best practices and requirements with a proven ability to provide sound and ethical financial counsel to executive leadership.
  • Thorough understanding of and personal involvement with systems and methodologies of finance, HR, IT and office administration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

SALARY & BENEFITS


The salary for this position is $100,000-$110,000 commensurate with experience. A highly competitive benefits package includes a 401k plan, medical, dental, and vision insurance. NAPAWF's medical plan is covered by NAPAWF at 100% for employee and dependents with no out of pocket costs, including prescription drugs costs. Qualified dependents may also be covered. NAPAWF also offers full-time employees 15 days of vacation in the first year, sick leave, flexible spending program options and personal/family leave as well as paid vacation from December 25th and January 1st of each year.
